Help centre
Start with the right call, keep applicant evidence reusable, and move through each proposal step in order.
Getting started
Create an organisation, complete its applicant dossier, then find a live opportunity or import an external call. GrantCrafter uses that dossier—not the account owner’s identity—through eligibility and drafting.
Discovery and alerts
Use filters to find current calls, save useful opportunities to Favourites, and create funding alerts by country and thematic area.
Eligibility and proposal drafting
Review the extracted donor requirements, complete missing applicant evidence, assess eligibility, and then build the concept, analyses, Theory of Change, logical framework, technical narrative, workplan and budget.
Free plan limits
A free workspace may run 60 searches, 3 external call imports, 5 document analyses, 10 eligibility assessments and 3 AI business plans in a rolling 24 hours, plus one AI proposal draft. The allowance resets 24 hours after the first use of that kind, not at midnight. Searching is capped only to deter automated extraction; the other three each send documents to a language model. Any paid plan removes all of them.
Drafting in another language
Set the proposal language on the eligibility step, before drafting. Twelve are available: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Malagasy, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swahili. Where the call states a required submission language it is shown beside your choice. Document extraction translates faithfully while leaving legal names, identifiers and URLs untouched.
Business Plan Studio
Company and startup applicants get five extra tabs: the business case, strategic analyses (SWOT, PESTEL, Porter’s Five Forces, VRIO), financial assumptions, market and valuation, and the resulting projections. The financial model is arithmetic, not a language model — anything you have not entered reads Not calculable rather than showing a number nobody chose.
Exports
Pro workspaces can export the proposal as Word or PDF and create an editable donor pitch deck in PowerPoint.
When something goes wrong
The drafting tabs are greyed out. The outline has not been validated yet. Open step 1 and press Validate outline; every later step unlocks at once.
A draft stopped part-way. Regenerate the single section rather than the whole document — each step regenerates independently.
A magic link did not arrive. Check spam first. Each new request invalidates the previous link, so requesting three in a row leaves only the last one working.
A grant’s details differ from the donor’s own page. Trust the donor, and tell us so the record can be corrected. Every opportunity keeps links to the sources it was indexed from.
